RNZAF 2009 Battle of the Bands - the DVD

Bands from RNZAF Auckland and Ohakea participated bringing together under one venue a mixture of pop, alternative, reggae, rock, thrash and heavy metal. A combination of covers and originals were showcased resulting in an event that lasted for five and a half hours. The bands are made up of both RNZAF and RNZAF / civilian personnel, and highlights the talent that lurks beneath the professional airmen and women serving in the RNZAF. This 75 minute production features highlights from all of the bands that performed, with the overall winners of the night being The Vespas.

Hornets over Ohakea

In April 2010, five of the RAAF's 3 Sqn F/A-18 Hornets from RAAF Williamtown visited RNZAF Base Ohakea, New Zealand, to partake in joint exercises with the NZ Army, assist the RNZAF with their training, conduct navigational training and partake in the 2010 Wings Over Wanaka Airshow. This is a 25 minute compilation of various fly-pasts using different filming techniques (tripod, hand held and handheld with Image Stabilizer on), of four of these jets as they practice their display over RNZAF Ohakea. To get to New Zealand, the Hornets were accompanied by Omega Tanker's MDC-10 in-flight refueller. This is caught on film as well. The light gull grey paint job makes this machine a real looker. This production is not filmed to the same high standards as my most recent rail videos (jumpy and unsteady shots), so am offering it at cost price only: $5.00 including postage to anywhere in New Zealand. |
